Just three weeks today before Jo sets off on her latest challenge. Preparations are beginning to fall into place, keep the support coming! We still need:

water
food supplies
funds for diesel
energy drinks and bars
mobile broadband
medical supplies (extended First Aid kits)
Hotels in Enniskillen, Bantry and Killmallock
light-weight reliable pedometer

and of course this is about raising awareness and much needed funds for the Carers Association so please do go to our mycharity.com site and give what you can!

What is this all about then?

How mad?

The Malin to Mizen Head route is approximately 350 miles. Joanne hopes to complete it in under six days which would set a Guinness World Record. That is 70 miles per day, each day - almost the equivalent of 3 marathons each day!

How can you help?

Joanne Ui Crualaoich, an Ultra Runner, has kindly agreed to help us raise much needed funds by running from Malin to Mizen Head on 21May 2010. She hopes to set a Guinness World Record for her run.

Practically all of us will either become a Carer or a Cared for Person at some point in our life. The continued support of the Carers Association would certainly help to make your life that little bit easier.

We will be needing a bicycle along the route to do route recon and keep Jo company as well as for safety reasons on narrow stretches of road. A fellow runner, Tom Enright runs a cycle tours company called Go Cycle Ireland and he has generously offered to loan us a bike for the trip.

We met Dermot Clarke at the Expo for the Great Limerick Run who was selling a great new product to the Irish Market called Physicool.
