The Malin to Mizen Head route is approximately 350 miles. Joanne hopes to complete it in under six days which would set a Guinness World Record. That is 70 miles per day, each day - almost the equivalent of 3 marathons each day!
How can you help?
The Carers Association aims to raise much needed funds from this event. We will be holding bucket collections in some of the locations en route, we have a mycharity.ie account for people who want to sponsor Joanne per mile or overall. - http://www.mycharity.ie/event/every_step_of_the_way/
The Carers Association is the National Charity for Family Carers. We provide support to Family Carers in many different ways including Training, In House Respite, Advocacy, Information etc. We have 16 Centres throughout the country. For more information please see ww.carersireland.com

Practically all of us will either become a Carer or a Cared for Person at some point in our life. The continued support of the Carers Association would certainly help to make your life that little bit easier.
Sponsors, the people who helped make it happen!

We have been contacting hotels along the route to see whether they would sponsor a room for Jo for the night. The following hotels have very kindly come on board:
We met a truly inspiring lady at the Limerick Great Run, Noeleen Brennan who gave us some Zum Rub. Check out her website to see who she is and what she sells. I have it on good authority that the Zum Rub works brilliantly on achy runners muscles, so I am sure Jo will be using this along the way! www.makeitenatural.com

We will be needing a bicycle along the route to do route recon and keep Jo company as well as for safety reasons on narrow stretches of road. A fellow runner, Tom Enright runs a cycle tours company called Go Cycle Ireland and he has generously offered to loan us a bike for the trip.
We met Dermot Clarke at the Expo for the Great Limerick Run who was selling a great new product to the Irish Market called Physicool. He will providing a good quantity of his product to Jo and the supporting runners to help ease any aches and pains they may have. Check out his website: www.physicool.ie
Charlottes Quay Pharmacy in Limerick kindly answered the call for a variety of medical supplies to support Jo on the run. http://www.mcsweeneygroup.ie/
Big thanks to Patrick C. Kelly who will be providing a box of gels and a supply of Lucozade Sport energy drinks on behalf of Lucozade. www.lucozadesport.ie
Jo will need to ensure her continued hydration along the run, so we are very grateful to Nuun who have come on board and will be supplying enough of their electrolyte hydration tablets to keep her going. www.nuun.com
A big thank you to Geoff at Garveys Supervalue in Corbally, Limerick. Actually that should be an apology! I hounded him with a request to supply us with food for Jo for the trip. You should see the list of stuff that Jo will eat! Anyway, he has really come through for us and agreed to provide everything on the list I gave him! www.supervalue.ie
Richardsons Foods sponsored the Limerick Marathon by providing fruit for the runners. So I contacted them to see if they would sponsor Jo by providing some fruit for the event. I am delighted to say they agreed so Jo will have plenty of fresh fruit to help keep her going. www.richardsonsfoods.ie
We would like to thank the massage therapists who have kindly agreed to give up their time to provide Jo with sports massage therapy at the end of a tough day. Thank you to:
Maureen Benson, Lisa Stapelbroek and Francoise Ruiz.
We have been so lucky for all the support we have been given from individuals and organisations alike.
The latest sponsorship has come from Michael Reddington at 02. He has given us mobile broadband and a mobile phone to maintain contact with runners and media and keep on top of things logistically. Thanks very much Michael! www.02.ie
